Now Here’s An App Story

In my last post I was talking about a number of 'firsts' that I’ve been involved with recently. Well, the next 'first' I want to talk about is the launch of the 'Sanctuary First App'. I'm delighted that the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland launched the App from St Andrew's Church in Bo'ness last Sunday evening.

I believe we may well be the first church or certainly among the first in Scotland to launch an App. Sanctuary First is designed to engage with Christians who want to grow daily in their faith. Christians and those who might not want to put a label on themselves, but who want to engage with the monthly theme  and stay with that theme on a daily basis. Sanctuary First is all about engaging in prayer and scripture reading. The App is seeking to highlight biblical topics that have a relevance for our everyday lives.

Over the next three months the App will be exploring, among many other ideas, the three temptations that Jesus faced in the wilderness experience. In many ways these temptations are generic to all of human experience. We are always facing the temptation to take the easy way out.  To pander to the instant needs of life. To turn stones into bread'.

The material in Sanctuary First seeks to cultivate within all of us a longing to engage with God in a deeper way.  The App has been designed so that you can interact with it on a bus or a train. Please  download from the App store and let me know how we can improve it. http://get.theapp.co/c04c

Alan, thanks for the comment. Just proves we should be in our beds at 1.30am not writing a blog.  I ‘ve changed the typos I think !

Hope your well with you. We need to meet up soon. Easter is fast approaching and Fergus has been commissioned to write an Easter detective script? Mmm that has got you thinking!  Yes what would Taggart think of the empty tomb if the resurrection happened in Glasgow?  Any clues, any pearls of wisdom ?  Any one liners to offer Fergus?

Brilliant idea!  And congrats on the innovation!  Can I make one plea - proof read your post above, it’s got a lot of typos, and that ain’t going to entice peeps to download your app.

But real congrats, and multiple blessings!
