Prayer Pentecost and let's buy a boat!

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Friday is going to be a busy day but its going to be interesting. I'm off to Humberside with a couple of Board members from the Vine Trust to look at two Fleet Tenders. You never know we might end up buying one of them. the vine Trust has decided to purchase another boat where it will end up will depend on a number of factors but we are convinced that there is an opportunity at this time to prepare a ship for future medical work. When Saturday comes we're off to a family birthday celebration. However before that I hope to take part in the 24 hour prayer vigil that is taking place in St Andrew's Bo'ness. Its actually sounding quite exciting I believe there are moves afoot to try and link with our partner across the world. I'm also hoping that we might be able to do a live stream of the Prayer Vigil. This would mean that people could look in and see what was going on in the during the Prayer Vigil. I nearly forgot there is also a prayer walk taking place around the town. It starts at Craigmailen Church one of the other congregations in the town. We usually get quite a good group of people attending. perhaps some of them will join with us at St Andrew's and come in to pray as they pass the church. Its shaping up to be an interesting time. Already there are going to be opportunities to prayerfully decorate the church in preparation for Sunday's Pentecost Service. There is also going to be an opportunity to explore prayer through the medium of art. the above picture was produced last Sunday as part of our Sanctuary First worship service. So look out and see how good the church will look on Sunday. Talking about Sunday it is also our Communion and for the evening we will be having a barbecue so look out for the pictures. since its Communion I think we will retire into the church for a short evening Communion Service, however if the weather is spectacular we might make history and have the first outdoor communion service at least during my ministry. So if your not doing anything why not join us this Sunday in Bo'ness we're really looking forward to celebrating pentecost. and then Sunday is the Birthday celebration of the Christian Church. we call it Pentecost.

Helmut

Write it in german we cam get it translated don’t be put off it is Pentecost we must surely find someone with the gift of interpretation. Speaking in different languages is all part of the work of the Spirit. So let’s have Tamil and french and german and Gaelic, and every language under the sun. then lets ask the people out there to interpret.

Mike, let me generally thank you for all your “churchy” postings. I do enjoy your posts, but am utterly unable to write anything like that in English!

Agree this will be an exciting spirit filled and led weekend in our church, not to be missed by anyone. The coming of the Holy Spirit, and birth of the church, is worthy of great celebration.
