SANCTUARY FIRST - A Place to be.

Its great to see people posting their ideas and thoughts about SANCTUARY FIRST. What we are trying to achieve is to create a worship experience where people can come and worship and encounter the presence of God. Sometimes people are a bit reluctant to attend church often because they feel they are not fully signed up card carrying members. SANCTUARY FIRST is all about making people feel included without making a big deal about it.Sometimes it is important that we get the opportunity to respond to that experience in a flexible way. On Sunday evening we had a number of stations especially designed to highlight the real point of Christmas.A work bench Jesus came as a worker like most of us. He came as a human to help us understand that God is continually working out his purposes in our lives. A chisel A block of wood A Carpenter A work bench A hand full of nails A cross of wood A Son of God A space in time A Book A Person A SAVIOUR Jesus described himself as the Good Shepherd, he wanted us to realise that God was in the business of guiding and comforting us in our lives. We are not alone we have a shepherd. Finally the Gospel calls us to open up our lives to understand Christianity is alll about an adventure. In the book of Revelation, the risen Christ says, "Look I set before you an open door which no one can close   Video Here is a video we made for Sunday's service, it seeks to explore the tensions that go through our mind before we surrender to the call of God." What a wonderful thought that God is into adventure in a big way. If he closes some doors it is because he has opened another door so that we can move through it. The amazing thing is that often we can't see the open door, we stand at the ones that have been closed looking for direction.

I do believe that the video shown here could well be prophetic.I have been visiting in my district this week and the “Doors” God opened for me were amazing.Clearly God will open the doors, all we need to do is to step out in faith. He’s just waiting for you to make the first move.
