So Where is God's Secret Place?

This year sees the 400th Anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible, or the Authorised Version as it has come to be known. For those who have never or seldom read this version it is well worth checking it out. I've decided we will read a portion from this version at St Andrew's Bo'ness publicly every Sunday during the coming year as part of our worship . I know there are parts of it which sound unintelligible but there are so many wonderful memorable sections in this translation that are worth preserving and introducing to a whole new generation. Take Psalm 91. It flows so beautifully and it also has a great relevance for busy stressed out people in the 21st century. "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." These verses surely must create some sense of intrigue and mystery for all of us. Just think how it must feel or would feel to know that you are in the presence of the most High, but not only that, but that you have been invited to dwell with Him in his secret places. Here is a question for you all, where do you think the secret place of the most High is? Could it be the most unexpected of places? In the prison camp of a prisoner of conscience? In the midst of an almighty rough when someone is standing up for justice knowing they will be targeted as a trouble maker? When you step up to the mark and do the right thing. When you are going through the fiery furnaces of life. Is that not where God dwells? Is that not the great secret? God is not always found where you might expect him in a church or a religious praise gathering but God is found giving protection to the humblest of people who put their trust in doing the right thing. It may well be that "the secret place" is the place of stillness and reflection but I'm wondering if it might also be the place of turmoil and distress. What do you think? One thing I do know is that I'm grateful for the phraseology of the KJV it got me reflecting on these words all over again.
