The Road To Forgiveness

There are some things that are so painful to face and to let go that it is truly a miracle when you find the grace and the strength to forgive someone who has deeply harmed and even destroyed your life. Of all the things that I have talked about I have come to the conclusion that forgiveness is the one great piece of teaching that never seems to lose it currency regardless who or where you are. Forgiveness is the only way that we will heal our world and also enter into the heart of God. Without Forgiveness you can't worship Without Forgiveness there can be no healing Without forgiveness there can be no life. The above film clip is a moving and challeging study in the whole area of repentance and forgiveness. It would be worth a Study group meeting to discuss the implications of this story. The Study groups are going to be discussing what it means to step out and actually journey on the road to forgiveness. I'm especially interested in the clip from the 1980s film "TheĀ  Mission" i notice Gaget Vicar makes a mention of it on his blog last week. it is a fantastic movie and of course the bit where Capt Mendoza finds his burden cut away by the very people he tried to sell into slavery is a wonderful example of grace.
