An emergency appeal for Haiti has been launched by Christian Aid . A major earthquake struck the country a couple of days ago. Major damage to key water, electricity and road systems will make the need for outside help all...

I was listening to the Janice Forsyth Show on Radio Scotland last Saturday. i'm a bit of a fan of Janice. I like her style and her selection of music. Anyway she played a Paul Simon number called "Slip Slidin' Away" I hadn't heard it in a long time, but it sure describes all our antics in this weather. I was out visiting round the parish yesterday and before long I was slip slidin'away. However i must say a big thank you to the gritters for dropping past the church...

The Escalator For those of you who were looking forward to Sanctuary First on 10 January in Bo'ness I hope you'll be able to attend the next one. The theme that we've chosen for Sanctuary First is based on the message of Jesus to the church at Sardis. It was a wake up call. Here's a wee poem I wrote for the service . Its entitled " Dead men Walking dead men Walking I hope...

Hoon and Hewitt Red Faces All Round

[gallery]I just felt there was a touch of arrogance in the actions of Hoon and Hewitt as they stepped out into the light of the media. Here were two MPs full of their own importance. They were going to be the saviours of the Labour Party. It was their plan to have a leadership contests and remove the Prime Minister. They obviously thought they had more influence than they had in reality. In the end was it six MPs who gave them their support. These two politicans who take...
