Its up bright and early this morning. I'm off to Glasgow to appear on the Janice Forsyth Show.Like many people in Scotland my Saturday morning is never quite complete unless i've had a chance to listen into at least part of Janice's Show. Who ever thought about taking this programme off the air to replace it with football and current affairs must be mad. Anyway I'm looking forward to being a guest even if its only for a short time. Please note also that there is now an...

I'm on the train heading down to Glasgow for  the 50th Anniversary Service of the Tom Allan Centre in Glasgow. We've just spend two very interesting days in Inverness. Yesterday was a pretty special day for the University of the Highlands and Islands. I was good to be able to visit the Highland Theological College  and meet up with the Principal Hector Morrison. Hector and i were at Trinity College together. This whole week has been pretty special and it was a...

We've had a really busy few days. Our London visit went exceeding well. The Service at Paul's was an historic occasion and it was a real privilege to represent the Church of Scotland. The views are stunning.  Tomorrow will be a splendid day full of colour and pageantry.  What a magnificent event to be celebrating.  I'm  really feeling  quite privileged  to be Moderator at this time. Its only right that  we should make a fuss over this Jubilee. Sixty years of service to the nation!  Its a wonderful endorsement of the wisdom of years. It also has a knock...

Moderator at Caritas

What a brilliant afternoon I had as a guest of Cardinal O'Brien and the Catholic Church  at the launch of the  Caritas Award Ceremony. The invitation came to me from the Scottish Catholic Education Service.  Over 3,000 people packed into the Clyde Auditorium to watch 450 teenagers receive their Caritas Award. This award has come about as part of an attempt to keep alive the memory of the Pope's visit to Scotland in 2010. It was a great afternoon hearing how...
