Here I am settling down to write my blog on the train from Edinburgh to Scarborough. What an interesting week has just past! On Monday I shared with you all the experience of taking the 21 Gun Salute at Edinburgh Castle. Then on Tuesday it was an afternoon at the Queen's Garden Party at Holyrood. The views are stunning.  Tomorrow will be a splendid day full of colour and pageantry.  What a magnificent event to be celebrating.  I'm  really feeling  quite privileged  to be Moderator at this time. Its only right that  we should make a fuss over this Jubilee. Sixty years of service to the nation!  Its a wonderful endorsement of the wisdom of years. It also has a knock...

Being a minister of the Gospel is a great privilege. Yesterday I had the unique opportunity to preach at the Scottish War Memorial in Edinburgh Castle. This is a service that takes place every year. It is a chance to remember and support in prayer all those who carry with them the wounds and scars of war and who feel the loss and pain of bereavement. It is a special service in that it seeks to highlight Scots who have given the greatest sacrifice of all. While there is...
